Imagine feeling stuck in patterns you can’t fully explain—overwhelmed by emotions, reactions, or beliefs that don’t quite make sense, even to you. It can feel frustrating, isolating, and exhausting. At the same time, there’s often a part of you that knows something needs to shift—you want clarity, healing, and a deeper sense of connection to yourself.
I’m Kim Christensen, a Certified Social Worker (CSW), with both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from the University of Utah. I provide a trauma-informed, compassionate, and down-to-earth approach to therapy. I show up as a real person—honest, grounded, and deeply respectful of your unique story. I’m not here to fix you or push you into a mold that doesn’t fit. Instead, I work alongside you to create a space where all parts of you are welcome.
My approach is rooted in a strong belief in your capacity to heal. I use a blend of EMDR, somatic therapy, sand tray, and Polyvagal Theory to support deeper processing and nervous system regulation. I use a person-centered and systems-based approach, meaning I consider the full context of your life—your relationships, environment, and lived experiences—while creating a space that feels safe, inclusive, and nonjudgmental.
I have experience supporting individuals and families through complex life challenges, and that work has shaped my deep respect for resilience and the courage it takes to seek support. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families navigating life transitions, relationship concerns, and the healing of past wounds.
Outside of my work, I’ve been married for over 25 years and am the proud parent of two adult children. I share my home with four dogs and a cat, and I find peace and grounding in the outdoors—especially hiking, climbing, and mountain biking.
Therapy is a collaborative process, and you don’t have to come in with everything figured out. If you’re ready to begin—or even just considering it—I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
