Dr. Schiller began her clinical career as a hospice volunteer at the age of 16, developing a passion for clinical trauma and complex behavioral health issues. Her direct practice experience includes intensive case management working with children, families, couples, and individuals across the lifespan and with a variety of challenges. She seeks to integrate various practices and theories from evidence-based therapeutic modalities like Somatic Experience (SE), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), which foster growth, resilience, and independence in the client through the acquisition of actionable skills and increased personal insight.
She empowers her clients through recognition and acknowledgment of their strengths and resilience by increasing positivity, and provision of validation/self-validation which includes acceptance through a non-judgmental atmosphere of support, to improve self-worth. She has extensive clinical experience encompassing a range of issues related to trauma and the impact traumatic experiences have on daily functioning. She recognizes her clients as the expert of their own experiences, striving to create a therapeutic alliance that focuses on collaboration, empathetic support, and respect while identifying and celebrating client strengths.
She offers a collaborative and integrative approach for clients seeking insight to their challenges. Her attitude towards therapy is that there is not one universal method that works best for anyone, therefore, she uses an appropriate blend of modalities to help the clients she serves overcome whatever they are currently experiencing. She believes that the client is the expert in their own life and she is here to help navigate the difficulties that the client is currently facing. She concentrates on developing a partnership with clients to identify strengths and areas of potential growth to make meaning and implement positive change.
Her specialization is assisting individuals navigating life change and transitions, coping with grief and loss, and reducing the impact and effects of trauma and traumatic experiences. She believes that everyone possesses the strengths and tools needed to achieve healing goals, her role as a therapist is to help the client access and utilize these strengths effectively.
She knows that finding the right therapist while a positive step towards change, is often a daunting task. Her role as a therapist is to help you find peace in a safe and confidential space by gaining insight and perspective into your current challenges.

Life presents many challenges, and with busy schedules, people often forget to take care of themselves and attend to their needs. Lacking the necessary support to overcome these challenges can leave individuals feeling lost, depressed, anxious, angry, and stuck. It is important to recognize that everyone is worthy of happiness and deserves to feel fulfilled in their relationships.
The journey of healing and progress can begin with therapy. New challenges and life decisions may have a significant impact, or there may be lingering pain from past experiences. Therapy sessions provide a safe space where individuals can comfortably share their thoughts and receive support in a non-judgmental environment. The therapist has experience working with adults, adolescents, couples, and college students on issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, family conflicts, neurodiversity, identity, and work/career concerns. Regardless of the challenges faced, therapy can offer hope.
With a person-centered approach, the therapist believes that individuals are the best experts of their own stories. Humor is also used when appropriate to make sessions feel more like conversations. The goal is to make clients feel as though they are in the driver’s seat, with the therapist as a passenger helping them navigate. The therapist incorporates various practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy. Every person is different, and therapy will be tailored to each individual, focusing on finding what works best and leveraging their strengths.
