Life is hard and we all face resistance whether it be mental illness, trauma, loss, or just the ups and downs of life. I believe that people are inherently resourceful and resilient and my role is to provide you with the tools to tap into your strengths to find healing and peace.
I am currently a Master of Social Work student at the University of Utah with an emphasis in Mental Health and Women’s Health. I also have a Spanish-language certificate and speak Spanish at an advanced level. I enjoy working with the LGBTQ population, faith transitions, eating disorders, anxiety, grief and loss, and clients with chronic illness and chronic pain. I am passionate about working with individuals from oppressed communities and helping them to improve their mental health and foster resilience.
I have experience working in a counseling capacity helping young adults with life transitions. I will support you as you learn the skills to disrupt thinking errors, regulate emotions, and make positive changes in your life. I have been trained in Feminist Multicultural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mind-Body Bridging, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT), and I use principles from other evidence-based therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Intuitive Eating. I am also trained in Adaptive Yoga.
I’m excited to join you on your journey!
