Latifah Henry is a clinical social worker. She earned her Bachelor’s of Social Work from California State University Los Angeles and her Master’s of Social Work from Northern Arizona University. She also received a certificate in Domestic Violence.
Latifah began volunteering in courts and worked as a student professional worker at the Santa Monica Courthouse Family Law Department. That is where her passion for helping families began. During graduate school she worked in Vocational Rehabilitation and has experience working in schools throughout her social work career, including SCC Counseling Assistance Program for Students and LAUSD School Mental Health in California. Latifah uses CBT, DBT, play therapy and EMDR. She works with children, teens, adults and couples.
Latifah is an empathetic, passionate clinician who believes in helping people advocate for themselves in order for people to live their best lives. She teaches students that it takes hard work, grace, and honesty, as well as learning, to love yourself. She loves being able to walk alongside her clients, meets them where they are at, and challenges them to do the hard work for their own healing. She also believes it is important to understand that each journey is different, our systems play a huge role in our lives, and healing takes time.
When asked about unique, fun facts about herself, Latifah shares that she is biracial and is married with four children. She loves to read, write, travel, and is a big foodie! She and her husband love to find yummy hole-in-the-wall places to eat. We are thrilled to have Latifah on our clinical team.
