Katrina is very passionate about helping her clients develop greater self-awareness. Her goal is to help them feel empowered by teaching them coping strategies that create healthy changes as well as self-healing. Her counseling experience includes working with clients of all ages who are suffering from anxiety, depression, adverse childhood experiences, domestic violence, grief and loss, gender identity, and a variety of life’s challenges.
She has worked in a variety of therapeutic settings that include children’s outpatient services, residential treatment, and intensive outpatient services for substance misuse. Her experience allows her to provide both individual and couple therapeutic services. This includes psychoeducation that is conscious of diverse cultures, beliefs, and values. Her approach to counseling is holistic and based on researched therapy theories, such as Client-centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Sand/Play Therapy.
